Wellington, FL- Speedy Brazilian, Rodrigo Pessoa, finished first to win Saturday’s Absorbine® Myoplast® 1.50m Classic for the second time in a row. The clock caught him at 32.119, narrowly shaving .497 of a second off Ian Miller and Redefin’s time of 32.616 seconds.
Pessoa and the 9-year-old liver chestnut son of Baloubet du Rouet, have been in the money several times this season. They teamed up to win two 1.40m classes and a 1.45m class at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. Two weekends ago they claimed the win at the 1.50m Absorbine Myoplast Classic and returned last Saturday to claim victory again.
Few in the crowd believed anyone could beat the velocity of Redefin’s performance until Palouchin de Ligny and his rider blistered through the course stealing the win. “My horse does not have the stride to cover a lot of ground,” Rodrigo joked, “But he is fast and he is a fighter.”
Five riders from the original 61 entries made the jump off and when Ian Miller set off for his round with a resounding, “Let’s rock,” it looked like victory was his. But Pessoa, last to go in the jump off, shaved off the .497 of a second to secure his second victory and brought home a second bright red Absorbine Myoplast cooler. It was a class spectators will undoubtedly remember.
Through supporting and sponsoring the 1.50m Classic at the celebrated Florida Winter Equestrian Festival, Absorbine Myoplast has been very successful in helping U.S. equestrians learn more about a muscle supplement their European counterparts have used for years.
Myoplast is a concentrated amino acid muscle supplement formulated to support the development of lean muscle mass in performance horses. Prior to Absorbine’s stewardship, it was only available in Europe through veterinarians. Absorbine introduces Myoplast to the United States as an over-the-counter supplement available at local tack shops and feed stores.
Absorbine® products are available nationwide in tack shops, farm supply stores, and catalogs. For a dealer near you or for more information, visit the Absorbine website at www.absorbine.com.
